  36. QUICKSTART:

  38. Unzip PAKET MASTER to its own directory.
  39.  
  40. Type GO to start the program.  From the title screen, choose SETUP and CONFIG 
  41. B E F O R E you try going ON-LINE.  **Please note that at this time ABAUD will
  42. have NO effect....the baud rate is set to 2400.  Sorry!  This will change soon.

  44. Once On-Line, you will notice some information scrolling in the upper region
  45. of the screen, this is your TNC responding to the setup.....

  47. Now you are ready to make your first contact...

  49. Type C CALLSIGN and hit enter...
  50.  
  51. For key descriptions choose ALT-H.  The help screen will display all availble
  52. keys and their functions.

  60. All keys are self explanitory, but the following is a few notes on some of the
  61. features/requirements/etc...
  62.  
  63. 1. The scroll back information is stored as a file on your hard drive.  
  64. Therefore, you should have some free space on the drive that PAKET MASTER is
  65. installed on.  How Much?  That depends on your usage of the program...In the
  66. next release, this will be limited to about 5K per stream.  
  67.  
  68. 2. **NEXT RELEASE** will have CD-ROM (Audio Cd) support and support the 
  69. playing of midi and mod files....for registered users only.
  70.  
  71. 3. The BRAG feature can be used as a command file or a brag file.
  72. Brag file:  Stores freqently transmitted phrases for quick retrieval
  73. **Note - for the entire length of the brag file, you remain in the current
  74. connect state.  i.e. if you are connected and play a brag file the brag file
  75. must not have a "disconnect" in it.  Likewise, a brag file can not have a 
  76. connect, unless it is the LAST command in the file.

  78. 4. It is worth noting again that this program has been tested for several weeks
  79. by myself and KA9DSA (Bill).  Hopefully all bugs have been removed - but 
  80. please note ** This has only been tested with a Kantronics KPC-3. **
  81. It should work fine with other tncs.  PLEASE! let me know your results and
  82. the type of TNC you use.

  85. This program - for me - is very easy, concise, and has good features...it is
  86. what I have been looking for in a simple TNC program.  Now it's your turn.
  87. Tell me what you think of it.  What should be added to make it better?
  88. What don't you like?  How would you fix it?  and of course, If  you do like
  89. it...please register.

  91. 6.  REGISTERED USERS:    You will receive the latest version which will be 
  92. personalized with your name and call sign.  Also, suggestions of registered
  93. users will be attended to first.
